You will receive a confirmation email right after you checkout. We will package your order in the next 1-2 business days. Then it will ship via Purolator, Canada Post, or UPS. Expedited parcels will arrive 2 business days after they are shipped. Regular parcels will take up to 5 business days. Shipping to the U.S. may take a little longer. What is so great about merino wool?

If you've never worn merino, you're in for a treat. It's not like your Grandpa's scratchy and bulky wool sweater. Merino wool fibres come from a special type of sheep called Merino and are much smaller and softer than other wools. At 18.9 microns, our fibres are classified as "superfine". Merino wool is also naturally breathable, odor resistant, temperature-regulating, and ultimately 100% biodegradable.

Will I get itchy wearing a wool golf shirt?

You may feel a slight itch the first time you wear the shirt, especially if it's on a hot, humid day. But with repeated wear and a wash or two, the fibres tend to soften up and this goes away.

Will my golf polo shrink in the wash?

No. If you follow the washing and care instructions on our product page there will be no shrinkage in the garment. Just be sure to wash on a delicate cycle and keep it out of the dryer! The more natural clothing items you have, the easier it will be to fill up the machine with only delicates and make this a regular part of your routine!

Why is merino wool more expensive than other fibres?

RWS standard merino wool is a natural product of the highest quality with a significant cost of production. The wool comes from rare breed sheep that are predominantly raised in Australia and New Zealand. Merino sheep grow slowly, and produce wool that can be harvested only twice per year. Because merino wool fibres are incredibly fine, it also takes more of them to make a garment of equivalent weight in another material. This all adds up to a fabric cost that is significantly higher than most other textiles. The benefit that we are hopeful you'll find is in the quality of the product. Merino wool is a unique material that, if properly cared for, can serve you well for a long time.

Are synthetic materials so bad?

Materials like polyester, spandex and nylon are commonly used in the performance-wear industry. While synthetic fibres are much cheaper to produce, it's important to understand some key elements of their life cycle. Almost all synthetic textiles are made from petroleum-based polymers; meaning they are a byproduct of oil and gas. While they can offer impressive durability, there are significant negatives as well:

  • Made from oil-based plastics that take thousands of years to biodegrade
  • Washing synthetic fabric releases microplastics into water systems, which can be very harmful to marine life and to us
  • The production of synthetic textiles uses highly toxic chemicals, such as pesticides, dyes, and flame retardants, which can then leach into the environment and contaminate soil and water
  • Synthetic fibres tend to attract oily compounds from sweat, which bacteria readily feed on, leading to strong, lingering odor

We're not trying to crusade against synthetics or disparage those who produce or use it. There's certainly a place for it in the garment world. Just want you to be aware of what's out there.

Is Natty a Canadian Company?

Yes. Through and through. Of course materials like the wool and our hats come from overseas. But our merino polos are manufactured in Canada. Even the branding labels and tags are provided by a Canadian company. And the shirt logos are embroidered at a local shop in British Columbia, Canada. We are so proud of these Canadian partnerships and will make every effort to maintain a strong Canadian manufacturing presence moving forward.
